You can also sign up for our regular email updates to stay informed on key issues facing Home Educators in Alberta. Membership fees help support the work of the Association in advocating for Home Education in Alberta and in keeping AHEA families informed and engaged.

Get Involved; Place Your Vote

When you are a member of AHEA, you are eligible to participate in the election of the Board, or hold a position on the Board. (The election takes place during the Annual General Meeting.) You are also eligible to have input and vote on motions brought forward during the AGM and Special Meetings.

AHEA stands up for Home Educators in Alberta and has a proven record of working well with the Alberta Board of Education and the Minister of Education. If you are not already a member, please consider buying a membership today!

The cost of membership is $25.00 annually.

AHEA Membership is for anyone who is currently a home educator or is a home educator whose children have graduated. If you intend to home educate, or if you do not home educate, you may become an Associate Member. Associate Members are not eligible to sit on the board, or to vote at the AGM.

The membership term runs from Convention to Convention, with membership voting privileges at the Annual General Meeting recognizing a cut-off period as of December 31 of the previous year.
