Volunteers Make A Difference!

How many volunteers does it take to run a successful AHEA convention each year?

This year, we are looking for approximately 250 people to cover various shifts on Thursday, Friday & Saturday to help things run smoothly.

Who do we need to help out? And how long are the shifts?

Youth, Parents, Grandparents, Homeschool Grads. . . almost anyone that is willing and a teen or older. There are various shifts but most are a 4 hour/8 hour/full 2 day commitment.

This year, we are looking for approximately 250 people to cover various shifts on Thursday, Friday & Saturday to help things run smoothly.

What positions need to be filled?

  • Set-up & take down
  • MCs
  • Security
  • First Aid (Shorter shifts)
  • Speaker Hosts and Drivers to and from airport for speakers
  • Room Monitors
  • Registration
  • Volunteer Check-in
  • Volunteer Coordinator Assistant
  • Youth Lab & Youth Session Assistants
  • Guest Services & Greeters
  • For Booths in the Exhibit Hall (for New Homeschoolers, for Special Needs & for High School
    booth)
  • General Runners

Why would I like to volunteer?

    • If you serve for 4 hours, you will receive 25% off your registration fee.
    • If you serve for 8 hours, you will receive free entry.
    • If a couple serves 10 hours total between the 2 of them, they will both receive free entry.

Volunteer Prize Draws

$50 Exhibit Hall Early Sign-Up Draw
Individuals who sign up to volunteer before March 1 will be entered into a draw to win a $50 gift certificate to spend in the Exhibit Hall at this year’s Convention!

Note: Draw will take place the first week of March and winner will announced on the AHEA Facebook page be contacted via email. Prize will be picked up when you arrive to your volunteer shift.

$100 Cash Draw
Any volunteer who serves a 1 - 4 hour shift will receive one entry form for this draw and anyone who serves a 5 - 8 hour shift will receive two entries.

This draw will be held near the end of the Convention and announced just before the closing session in the Prairie Pavilion.

Note: Entry forms will be given to you when you arrive to sign in for your shift.
