Supreme Court of Canada on Parental Authority in Education

July 11, 2011

Please pray for the Supreme Court of Canada decision on the rights of parents to have educational authority for their children under the Charter of Rights and Freedom.  The

S.L., et al. v. Commission scolaire des Chênes, et al. (Quebec)(Civil) (By Leave) 33678 case was heard on May 18, 2011, before the Supreme Court of Canada, and it may take up to six months before a decision on the case is made.  The mandate of the Supreme Court of Canada states that it is not to be influenced by the majority, so lobby action would be ineffective.  I encourage you to pray... and pray and pray and pray.  A Supreme Court of Canada decision supporting the rights of parents in education would be very beneficial to homeschoolers.  A decision denying this right would significantly hinder our ability to argue for our constitutional rights as home educators.  Again, please PRAY.
