Parents are gathering on the steps of the
legislature Monday at 12:30 p.m. to protest part of the new Alberta Education
Act, also known as Bill 2.

The Alberta Home Education Association (AHEA) wants the Alberta Human Rights
Act to remain separate from the new Education Act.

AHEA Board member Paul van den Bosch says that the new Education Act brings the
Alberta Human Rights Act into our schools and our homes.

"That Alberta Human Rights Act has been used in the past ten years to
diminish and restrict religious freedom and I think that every parent and
person of every faith should be very concerned about that," says van den

AHEA believes the Bill 2 threatens to mandate 'diversity' in all schools,
including home schools, making it possible to impose both curriculum and
