The opportunity to provide input on on the Alberta Education Legislation (currently known as Bill 18, Education Act) is drawing near an end.  January 8 is the final date for people to post their feedback at http://ideas.education.alberta.ca/engage/have-your-say/general-ideas  on the Engage Alberta Website. 

There are four main issues are of concern for home educators:

1. Defining a home education program as a school

2. Imbedding the Human Rights Commission in the Education Act

3. Parents maintaining the paramount authority in the education of their children

4. Increasing the compulsary age of education from 16 to 17
