 Message from the Minister of Education Thomas Lukaszuk
“This legislation is the foundation of our education system, so it is important we get it right,” said Education Minister Thomas Lukaszuk.  “Hearing the views of students, parents, grandparents, teachers, education and community leaders, and others will help us ensure new legislation reflects Albertans’ vision for their education system and impacts classrooms now and in the future.”
 
The education.alberta.ca/engage website includes ways for people of all ages to provide input.  Elementary school students are invited to mail a letter or drawing to the minister (423 Legislature Building, Edmonton, T5K 2B6) about the changes they would make if they were the education minister for a day. Other students and Albertans are invited to participate in discussion boards about making schools safe and welcoming, making learning relevant, keeping students engaged in learning, and building the skills for future success.
