The 2017 AHEA Convention went well!

After months of planning and preparation, the 2017 Alberta Home Education Association Convention in Red Deer on April 6 - 8, everything went really well.

THANKS so much to all of our volunteers! More than 2250 people attended the 2017 Convention! *Please mark your calendars for April 12 -14, 2018 and plan to attend!

There has been a lot of positive feedback on the Alberta Home Education Association Facebook Page. (If you want to join that, click the Facebook Button on the left side of this page AND watch for a private message from the moderator. It must be answered before you will be added to the page. There are over 2000 members on the AHEA Page on Facebook - and there is a LOT of encouragement, inspiration and posts with questions (and answers) about Home Education shared!)

The AHEA Home School Convention in Red Deer (April 6 - 8) is a mere 15 days away - and many home educators around the province are busy making plans to attend. The AHEA Board, Convention Coordinator, Convention Team AND volunteers are busy with last minute details - hoping and praying to make this year's Family Friendly Convention one of the best yet!

There are a lot of new activities and extras this year, plus some perennial favorites - a Used Curriculum Sale, Youth Labs, Graduation Ceremony, Breakfast for Dads, an evening of encouragement (and chocolate) for moms, a family movie night, one of the biggest Home School Exhibit Halls in Western Canada, many different speakers and so much more!

Whether you have been home educating for one year, or twenty years OR are simply thinking of home schooling your children, think about making plans to attend the Alberta Home Education Association Convention in April!

The AHEA board wants you to know about two exciting events the weekend of Saturday, October 29, 2016. Both events are sponsored by good friends of AHEA. As you'll see from below, Edmonton is double booked for these events. That said, we recommend attending each event if you're able. You won't be disappointed.

1) Dr. Joe Boot is speaking on "Gospel Culture - a Faith for all of Life."

Come hear Dr. Boot, Senior Pastor Westminster Chapel Toronto and Founder Ezra Institute for Contemporary Christianity. His topic is "Culture-building implications for every sphere of our lives."
An internationally-renowned Christian speaker, Joe debates leading intellectuals at universities and on radio and television programs and regularly trains Christian leaders to think biblically about all spheres of life.
